What is CloudLinux?¶

CloudLinux OS is the leading platform for multi-tenancy. It improves server stability, density, and security by isolating each tenant (cPanel client accounts) and giving them allocated server resources.

What is CloudLinux Good for?¶

CloudLinux isolates each customer into a separate “Lightweight Virtualized Environment” (LVE), which partitions, allocates, and limits server resources, like memory, CPU, and connections, for each account. CloudLinux OS also “cages” each account from one another to avoid security breaches. This way, unstable scripts or malware are not able to sprawl across different website.

How to Select Different PHP Version for Different cPanel Accounts¶

How to Check if a site has been limited by Cloud Linux?¶

Example

Log into your cpanel, either through the WHM reseller account or directly.
Click on the Resource Usage icon under the Logs section.
- From there, you will be able to see if your website was limited. You will see an indication such as: CPU resources were limited for your site or Memory resources were limited for your site.
Click on [Details].
- You will be able to see indepth details on why your site was slowed down. Any values in RED will indicate that you exceeded the limit, which is what caused the slow down
